AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE BY PUBLIC AUCTION
OF PERSONAL PROPERTY OWNED BY THE CITY OF McHENRY
WHEREAS, in the opinion of at least three -fourths of the corporate authorities of the City
of McHenry, it is no longer necessary or useful to or for the best interests of the City of
McHenry to retain ownership of the personal property hereinafter described; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Mayor and City Council of the City of
McHenry to sell said personal property at public auction for cash.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF McHENRY as follows:
SECTION 1: Pursuant to Section 5/11-76-4 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes, Chapter
65, the Mayor and City Council of the City of McHenry find that the following described
personal property now owned by said jurisdiction is no longer necessary or useful to said
jurisdiction and said jurisdiction would be best served by the property's sale:

SECTION 2: Pursuant to said Section 5/11-76-4, the City Administrator is hereby
authorized and directed to sell the aforementioned personal property now owned by the City of
McHenry for cash at public auction to the highest bidder.
SECTION 3: Upon payment of the full auction price, the City Administrator is hereby
authorized and directed to convey and transfer title of the aforesaid personal property to the
successful bidder.
SECTION 4: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage
by a vote of at least three -fourths of the corporate authorities, and approval in the manner
provided by law.
