AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING AN OFFICIAL
COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission has caused a Comprehensive
Plan and an Addenda to said Comprehensive Plan to be prepared
on its behalf by Harland Bartholomew and Associates, which
Comprehensive Plan is dated April , 1970, and is entitled
"Comprehensive Plan -McHenry, Illinois", and which Addenda is
dated September 7, 1973;
AND WHEREAS, the Plan Commission recommends that the
Mayor and City Council adopt the aforesaid Comprehensive Plan,
and said Addenda, as and for the Official Comprehensive Plan
of the City of McHenry;
AND WHEREAS, the City Council has considered said Com-
prehensive Plan and the said Addenda thereto, together with
the recommendation of the Plan Commission, and finds the adop-
tion of the Official Comprehensive Plan to be in the public
interest;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF McHENRY, McHENRY COUNTY, ILLINOIS, as follows:
Section 1. That the aforesaid recommendation of the Plan
Commission be and it is hereby accepted.
Section 2. That the above described "Comprehensive Plan -
McHenry, Illinois", together with the aforesaid Addenda thereto

be and the same are hereby incorporated herein by reference
and are hereby adopted as part of this Ordinance and shall be
known as the Comprehensive Plan of the City of McHenry.
Section 3. The Comprehensive Plan of the City of Mc-
Henry shall be identified by the following statement marked
or stamped thereon:
"Adopted by reference as part of the
Comprehensive Plan Ordinance passed
on November 5, 1973 by the City Council
of the city of McHenry, Illinois, approved
by Joseph B. Stanek, Mayor, and attest,
Earl R. Walsh, City Clerk."
Section 4. At least three copies of this Ordinance
shall be kept by the Office of the City Clerk for inspection
by interested persons. The City Clerk shall also make avail-
able copies of the Ordinance for purchase at a price of
either through duplication in advance of comtemplated demand or
upon order as required. The foregoing copies of the Ordinance
shall be in addition to the original copy which the Statutes
require the Clerk to keep as part of the official record of
enacted ordinances.
Section 5. Any provision of this Ordinance held invalid
shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions.
Section 6. This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage, approval and publication
as provided by the Statute.
