Mc-96=643 AN ORDINANCE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MCHENRY, MCSSNRY COUNTY, ILLINOIS, as follows: SECTION 1. That Section 4-21, of the Municipal Code of the City of McHenry, Illinois, is hereby amended to read as follows: "Sec. 4-21. Minimum age of bartenders and persons serving alcoholic beverages. No licensee hereunder may employ any person under the age of twenty-one years for the purpose of bartending or drawing, pouring, dispensing or mixing any alcoholic liquor. Provided, however, this section shall not prohibit licensees from employing persons eighteen (18) years of age or older to serve alcoholic liquor to customers at tables in restaurants for consumption on the premises." SECTION 2. That the fourth paragraph of Section 4-22 of the Municipal Code, relating to Closing Hours for sale at retail of alcoholic liquor, is hereby amended to read as follows: "On the mornings of New Years Day, Memorial Day (observed), Independence Day (July 4th) and Thanksgiving Day, it shall be lawful to sell alcoholic liquor in the City for one additional hour beyond the aforesaid regular closing hour for that date." SECTION 3. Any person, firm or corporation violating any provision of this ordinance shall be fined not less than Twenty Five Dollars ($25.00) nor more than Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) for each offense committed on each day during, or on which, a violation occurs or continues. SECTION 4. All ordinances, or parts thereof, in conflict with the terms and provisions hereof, be and the same are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be published in pamphlet form by and under the authority of the corporate authorities of the City of McHenry, Illinois. SECTION 6. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication, as provided by law. PASSED and APPROVED this 3rd day of January, 1996.
