AN ORDINANCE REGULATING PARKING AT THE INTERSECTION OF
PRIME PARKWAY AND FRONT STREET (ILLINOIS ROUTE 31) IN
THE CITY OF McHENRY, McHENRY COUNTY, ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, the City of McHenry, hereinafter known as "CITY", and the
State of Illinois, acting by and through its Department of Transportation,
Division of Highways, have entered into an Agreement relative to
installation of new traffic signals and incidental work at the intersection
of Prime Parkway and Front Street (IL Route 31); and,
WHEREAS, in order to facilitate said installation, it is necessary
for the City to adopt an Ordinance regulating the parking along Front Street
(IL Route 31) at its intersection with Prime Parkway.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of
McHenry, McHenry County, Illinois, as follows:
SECTION 1. That Section 13-1222 of Chapter 13 of the City of McHenry
Municipal Code, commonly known as the Traffic and Motor Vehicle Ordinance,
relating to No Parking At Any Time is hereby amended by adding thereto the
following sub -section 7.3:
"7.3 Front Street (IL Route 31) for 400 feet on both sides of
and Prime Parkway the intersection"
SECTION 2. That any person, firm or corporation violating this
Ordinance shall be fined not less than $25.00 nor more than $500.00 for each
offense, and separate offenses shall be deemed committed for each and every
day during which a violation continues or exists.
SECTION 3. That if any section, paragraph, clause, phrase or part of
this Ordinance is for any reason held invalid, such decision shall not
affect the validity of the remaining provisions of this Ordinance, and the
application of these provisions to any persons or circumstances shall not be
affected thereby.
SECTION 4. That all Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict with
the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of such
conflict.
SECTION 5. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage and approval as provided by law.
