AN ORDINANCE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MCHENRY, MCHENRY
COUNTY, ILLINOIS, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 13-1222, sub -sections 8.2, 11., 12. and 24.1, of
Chapter 13 of the Municipal Code, known as the Traffic and Motor Vehicle
Ordinance of the City of McHenry, Illinois, relating to No Parking At Any
Time, is hereby amended to read as follows:
118.2 Green Street along both sides from Waukegan to Bull
Valley Road.
11. John Street along both sides from Green Street to the
entrance driveway for McHenry Country
Club except for a 15 minute parking zone
(Section 13-1226) on the north side
between Green Street and the driveway to
the school parking lot.
12. Kane Avenue along the north side from Green Street to
Center Street.
24.1 Waukegan Road along the south side from Green Street to
Third Street."
SECTION 2. Sub -sections 8.3, 8.4, 12.1 and 12.2 of Section 13-1222
relating to No Parking At Any Time are hereby deleted.
SECTION 3. Section 13-1224 relating to No Parking 8:00 A.M. to 4:00
P.M On School Days is hereby deleted.
SECTION 4. Section 13-1224.1 No Parking 10:00 P.M. to 4:00 a.m. is
hereby renumbered as Section 13-1224.
SECTION 5. Section 13-1227 relating to Two (2) Hour Parking Between
8:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M. Except Sunday, is hereby amended by deleting
sub -section 3.2 Green Street - along the west side of the street from Kane
Avenue to a point 500 feet south of Kane Avenue.
SECTION 6. Article XII Parking Regulations of Chapter 13, is hereby
amended by adding thereto the following section:
"13-1227.1 TWO (2) HOUR PARKING 8:00 A.M. TO 4:00 P.M. ON SCHOOL
DAYS.
It shall be unlawful for the operator of any motor vehicle
to park such vehicle for more than two (2) consecutive
hours on school days between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and
4:00 P.M. in any of the following locations:
1.
Allen Avenue
its entire length on both sides of
the street.
2.
John Street
along both sides from Green Street to
a point 200 feet east of Front Street.
3.
Center Street
along both sides from James Street to
Main Street, except for the
handicapped parking spaces set forth
in Section 13-1225.
4.
Fourth Street
along both sides from James Street to
Main Street.
5.
James Street
along both sides from Green Street to
Center Street.
6.
Main Street
along the north side from Green
Street to a point 265 feet east of
Front Street.
7.
Third Street
along both sides from James Street to
Waukegan Road.
8.
Waukegan Road
along the north side from Fourth
Street to Third Street."
SECTION 7. Any person, firm or corporation violating any provision of
this ordinance shall be fined not less than Twenty Five Dollars ($25.00) nor
more than Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) for each offense committed on each
day during, or on which, a violation occurs or continues.
SECTION 8. All ordinances, or parts thereof, in conflict with the
terms and provisions hereof, be and the same are hereby repealed to the
extent of such conflict.
SECTION 9. This ordinance shall be published in pamphlet form by and
under the authority of the corporate authorities of the City of McHenry,
Illinois.
SECTION 10. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage, approval and publication, as provided by law.
