AN ORDINANCE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF McHENRY, McHENRY
COUNTY, ILLINOIS, as follows:
SECTION 1. Effective May 1, 1994, Section 13-203 of Chapter 13 of the
City of McHenry Municipal Code, commonly known as the Traffic and Motor
Vehicle Ordinance, is hereby amended to read as follows:
"13-203 Fees. The license fee for each motor vehicle to be paid annually
to the City Clerk shall be as follows:
Ambulances, private . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $12.00
Passenter vehicles for private use and trucks weighing
8,000 lbs or less . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $12.00
Trucks and other freight and merchandise carrying vehicles
weighing 8,001 lbs or more and bearing Illinois license
plates suffixed "D" through "Z" inclusive and all trucks
bearing Illinois plates with special designations . . . . $30.00
Motorcycles and motorized pedalcycles . . . . . . . . . . . $ 9.00
Public passenger vehicles and buses (except vehicles
otherwise designated as school buses) with a capacity
of over seven (7) persons . . . . . . $40.50
Public passenger vehicles and buses (except vehicles other-
wise designated as school buses) with a capacity of seven
(7) persons or less . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $34.50
Automobile dealer (for the first 5 vehicles) . . . . . . . $60.00
Automobile dealer (for each vehicle in excess of 5) . . . . $12.00
School buses of all sizes and capacities . . . . . . . . . $15.00
Replacement sticker . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $ 2.25"
SECTION 2. Effective July 1, 1994, Section 13-205(b) relating to past
due purchase of vehicle licenses is hereby amended to read as follows:
(b) In addition to the fees provided in Section 13-203, on or
after July 1 an additional late fee of $3.00 per month for each
month or fraction thereof shall be assessed and shall be based on
the total number of months or fraction thereof that said purchase
is made after July 1 of each year.
SECTION 3. Any person, firm or corporation violating any provision of
this ordinance shall be fined not less than Twenty Five Dollars ($25.00) nor
more than Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) for each offense committed on each
day during, or on which, a violation occurs or continues.
SECTION 4. All ordinances, or parts thereof, in conflict with the terms
and provisions hereof, be and the same are hereby repealed to the extent of
such conflict.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be published in pamphlet form by and
under the authority of the corporate authorities of the City of McHenry,
Illinois.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage, approval and publication, as provided by law.
