AN ORDINANCE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MCHENRY, MCHENRY COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Exception 7 of Section 13-602 of the Motor
Vehicle and Traffic Regulation Ordinance of the City of
McHenry, Illinois be and the same is hereby amended to read
as follows:
7. A speed limit of 55 m.p.h. is hereby
established in the following areas:
a. Illinois Route 120-Dot Street to
West City limits.
b. Richmond Road-McCullom Lake Road to
North City limits.
SECTION 2. Section 13-602 of the Motor Vehicle and
Traffic Regulation Ordinance of the City of McHenry,
Illinois be and the same is hereby amended by adding
thereto the following exception as and for exception 8
thereof:
8. A speed limit of 50 m.p.h. is hereby
established in the following areas:
a. Front Street-1,000 feet south of
High Street to South City limits;
SECTION 3. Any person, firm or corporation violating
any provision of this ordinance shall be fined not less
than Twenty Dollars ($20.00) nor more than Five Hundred
Dollars ($500.00) for each offense committed on each day
during, or on which, a violation occurs or continues.
SECTION 4. All ordinances, or parts thereof, in
conflict with the terms and provisions hereof, be and the
same are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be published in
pamphlet form by and under the authority of the corporate
authorities of the City of McHenry, Illinois.
SECTION 6. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage, approval and publication
in pamphlet form, as provided by law.
