AN ORDINANCE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF McHENRY,
McHENRY COUNTY, ILLINOIS, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 24-31 of the Municipal Code, City of McHenry,
Illinois, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
Sec. 24-31. Charge for abatement by City.
When the City has affected the removal of such
obnoxious growth, or has paid for its removal,
the owner of such lot, place or area, shall be
charged for such removal, on the basis of the
total land area contained in such lot, place or
area, as follows:
Number of square feet in lot, place or area Charge
Under 10,000 $50.00
Between 10,000 and 20,000 60.00
Between 20,000 and one acre in area 70.00
For each additional acre or fraction thereof 70.00
Said charge shall be due and payable by said owner
within thirty (30) days after a bill for such charges
has been mailed to said owner.
SECTION 2. PENALTY. Any person violating any provision of this
Article shall be fined not less than Twenty-F-ive ($25.00) Dollars nor
more than Five Hundred ($500.00) Dollars. Each day that such violation
exists shall be considered and penalized as a separate violation.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be published in pamphlet form
by and under the authority of the corporate authorities of the City
of McHenry, Illinois.
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage, approval and publication as required by
law.
