RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Carol Jean Smith was appointed to the City of McHenry
Landmark Commission on May 1, 1990, and has served as its Recording Secretary
since her appointment; and
WHEREAS, she is resigning her position as Commissioner after serving the
McHenry Community for nine years in this capacity; and
WHEREAS, she has enthusiastically encouraged local property owners to
submit applications for Landmark designation in an effort to preserve the historical
structures within the McHenry Community; and
WHEREAS, she will be remembered for her organization, thoroughness and
civic interest in fulfilling her duties.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the McHenry City Council
go on record as recognizing these accomplishments and expresses its appreciation
on behalf of the citizens of McHenry.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be incorporated into the
minutes of this meeting and that a copy be presented to Carol Jean Smith.
