AN ORDINANCE AMENDING MUNICIPAL CODE CHAPTER 16
PARKS AND RECREATION, SEC. 16-48 (D) PETER J. MERKEL AQUATIC CENTER
WHEREAS, the City of McHenry, McHenry County, Illinois, is a home rule municipality as
contemplated under Article VII, Section 6, of the Constitution of the State of Illinois, and the passage of this
Ordinance constitutes an exercise of the City's home rule powers and functions as granted in the Constitution
of the State of Illinois.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
McHENRY, McHENRY COUNTY, ILLINOIS, as follows:
SECTION 1: That Section 16-48 (D) shall be amended to reflect the name of the Peter J. Merkel
Aquatic Center, formally Knox Park Pool, passed and approved by the McHenry City Council on March 18,
2013:
(D) Peter J. Merkel Aquatic Center Pool Rentals. Daily and season passes for the Peter J.
Merkel Aquatic Center are available for purchase at the Parks and Recreation Department Office. The rental
fee for exclusive use of the pool at Peter J. Merkel Aquatic Center will be as follows:
Rental Fee Total
Rental of Entire Pool: $175.00 $175.00
Saturdays & Sundays from
7:15 PM to 9:15 PM
Includes two lifeguards
SECTION 2: All Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the
extent of such conflict.
SECTION 3: This ordinance shall be published in pamphlet form by and under the authority of the
corporate authorities of the City of McHenry, Illinois.
SECTION 4: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and
publication, as provided by law.
