An Ordinance Authorizing the Donation of Surplus Property
Owned by the City of McHenry
WHEREAS, in the opinion of the corporate authorities of the City of McHenry, it is no
longer necessary, useful, or in the best interest of the City of McHenry to retain ownership of five
bicycles, one used steel bicycle rack, and one ladies j acket collected by the department as found
property; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Mayor and City Council of the City of
McHenry to donate five bicycles and one used steel bicycle rack to Garden Quarter Resource
Center located in the 4508 Garden Quarter Road, and one ladies j acket to Home of the Sparrow
located at 2116 N. Ringwood Road the Village of Johnsburg (5 units) and the Village of
McCullom Lake (3 units) , Illinois.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TBE
CITY OF MCHENRY AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The Mayor and City Council of the City of McHenry find that the
following described personal property now owned by said jurisdiction is no longer necessary to
said jurisdiction and the Garden Quarter Resource Center (five bicycles and one used steel
bicycle rack) and the Home of the Sparrow, (one ladies jacket) would be best served by the said
personal property as follows:

SECTION 2: The Chief of Police is hereby authorized and directed to donate to the
Garden Quarter Resource Center and Home of the Sparrow the above -described personal property
now owned by the City of McHenry.
SECTION 3; This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage
by the corporate authorities.
