Home My WebLink AboutOrdinances - ORD-10-1500 - 02/15/2010 - AUTHORIZE DISPOSAL NON-FUNCTIONAL PROPERTYOrdinance No. ORD-10- 1500 An Ordinance Authorizing the Disposal of Non -Functional Inventory Property Owned by the City of McHenry WHEREAS, the City of McHenry, McHenry County, Illinois, is a home rule municipality as contemplated under Article VII, Section 6, of the Constitution of the State of Illinois, and the passage of this Ordinance constitutes an exercise of the City's home rule powers and functions as granted in the Constitution of the State of Illinois; and WHEREAS, in the opinion of the corporate authorities of the City of McHenry, it is no longer necessary or useful to or for the best interests of the City of McHenry to retain ownership of the property identified and described on Exhibit A attached hereto and made a part hereof, and WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Mayor and City Council of the City of McHenry to dispose of said non-functional inventory of property by the means prescribed by law for the disposal of non-functioning electronic property. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MCHENRY AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: The Mayor and City Council of the City of McHenry find that the property described on Exhibit A attached hereto and made a part hereof is no longer necessary to the function of said jurisdiction. SECTION 2: The Mayor and City Council direct, by a minimum of three- quarters majority, that the City Administrator is hereby authorized and directed to dispose of said property in a manner required by law for the disposal of non-functioning electronic equipment. SECTION 3: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the corporate authorities.
