MARCH 7TH, 1938
The City Council met in regular monthly meeting
with Mayor Overton presiding. Aldermen present : Bolger,
Buss , Freund, Kreutzer, Regner. Absent : Ferwerda
Motion by Freund , seconded by Regner, that the
10 minutes of the previous meeting be appreved as read. Motion
carried.
Motion by Buss , seconded by Freund, that the
treasurer 's report be approved as read. Motion carried.
' Balance on hand in General Fund at end of month - $9,603.21
Motion by Regner, seconded by Bolger, that the
collector ' s report be approved as read . Motion carried .
Motion by Bolger, seconded by Buss , that the
clerk ' s report be approved as read. Motion carried .
Motion by Kreutzer , seconded by Regner, that
the following bills be paid as approved by the finance
committee. Motion carried.

F.C. Feltz, caretaker of .city disposal plant reported
more favorable results in operation as a result of replacing
defective sewer pipe line.
Wm. Bickler, Fire Chief, reported the intention of the
McHenry Fire Department to purchase new truck as added protection
to both city and outlying districts. It was further stated that
truck would be turned over to city upon completion of payments.
Motion by Bolger, seconded by Freund, requiring surety
bonds with applications for aicholic beverage licenses for the
coming year. Motion carried .
Motion by Kreutzer, seconded by Regner , that resolution
to State of Illinois Division of Highways , requesting the depart-
ment to reconsider the rerouting of U.S. Route #12 and to retain
the routing through the city of McHenry, be approved . Motion
carried .
wog of was decided that Mayor Overton and a committee of
Aldermen t-e meet with state department at Springfield in the
interest of retaining U.S. Route #12 in McHenry.
Motion by Buss , seconded by Bolger, to instruct the
clerk to advertise for bids on John Street , Section 1-C.S. plans
for the proposed improvement. Motion carried.
Motion by Kreutzer, seconded by Freund , to adjourn.
Motion carried .
