NOVEMBER 6TH, 1939
The City Council met in regular monthly meeting
with Mayor Overtonpresiding. Aldermen present : Bolger, Buss,
Ferwerda, Freund, Regner, Nye. Absent : None.
' Motion by Ferwerda, seconded by Freund that the
Minuted of the last regular meeting be approved as read.
Motion carried.
Motion by Nye , seconded by Regner, that the
treasurer's report be approved, as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Freund, seconded by Bolger, that the
collector' s report be approved as read . Motion carried.
Motion by Bolger, seconded by Ferwerda, that the
clerk' s report be approved as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Ferwerda, seconded by Regner, that the
following bills be pafid as approved by the finance committee.

Motion by Ferwerda , seconded by Buss, to amend by inserting
the words "or for resale" in the Food Deliveries section of the
Municipal Code , Chapter 12, Article 2, also changing the annual
fee to fifteen dollars ($15.00) , with provision establishing
fee , from effective date of amendment to the end of the fiscal
year , May 1 , 1940, at five dollars ($5 .00). Motion carried .
Anton M. Schmitt represented the McHenry Township Fire
Protection District in asking the city council to arrange
space so that both fire trucks could be housed at the same
location. The matter was referred to the Public Property committee.
Motion by Bolger, seconded by Freund designating the West
McHenry State Bank as depository of City Treasurer' s funds .
Motion carried .
.A communication signed bjr Clarence Douglas and (Mrs. ) Katie
Conway requesting a new sidewalk on Park Street, north of Wash-
ington Street was referred to the committee in charge .
The appointment of Vernon J. Knox as City Attorney on a
retainer fee basis of $200.nn per year was approved by the council.
Motion by Bolger, seconded by Ferwerde to adjourn . Motion
carried.
