Aldermen present : Bolger, Buss , Ferwerda, Freund, Nye, Regner. Absent : None. ' Motion by Buss, seconded by Ferwerda, that the minutes of the last regular meeting be approved as read. Motion carried. Motion by Regner, seconded by Bolger, that the treasurer' s report be approved as read. Motion carried. Motion by Ferwerda, seconded by Nye, that the collector' s report be approved as read. Motion carried. Motion by Bolger, seconded by Buss, that the clerk's report be approved as read. It was moved by Alderman Freund and seconded by Alderman Regner that the following resolution be adopted. Motion Carried: Resolution Of The Death of Peter J. Doherty WHEREAS Divine Providence has taken from our midst Peter J. Doherty, a former Mayor of the City of McHenry and a former alderman of the City of McHenry, who was a friend of the members of the Council, and a loyal public servant, and WHEREAS the death of our friend and former City official is taken as a great loss to the City of McHenry and to his many friends who held him in high esteem; yet realizing that our sorrow of his departure is surpassed by that of his grief striken wife and his brothers and sisters , and Whereas his many years of able and efficient public service have endeared him to the citizens of this City, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of McHenry that we hereby express our deep and sincere sympathy to the widow and the family of our friend for the loss and sorrow that has come to them; that with them we mourn for one who truly merited the respedt and high regard of the people of McHenry, and we share with them a memory of a life nobly spent in service to his fellowmen and to the City of McHenry, Illinois, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the record of this meeting and that a copy thereof be forwarded by the Clerk to the widow and family of our beloved friend . Kasser, pertaining to contemplated construction of Green Street bridge, was received by the council . It was agreed that Engineer Kasser proceed with detailed plans and estimates . Motion by Bolger, seconded by Freund, to accept the annual audit of the city funds as prepared and read by Auditor J.W. I/ North. Motion carried. Motion by Bolgee, seconded by Buss , to adjourn. CAREY, CITY TREASURER, MCHENRY, ILLINOIS , pursuant to the terms of an Act of the General Assembly of the State of Illinois adopted and now in force and effect , has requested this CITY' COUNCIL to designate a Bank or Banks , or other depository in which funds and moneys in his custody as CITY TREASURER, CITY OF MCHENRY, ILLINOIS , may be deposited. NOW, THEREFORE, Be It Resolved by the CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF MCHENRY, ILLINOIS in said County and State, that : WEST MCHENRY STATE BANI{, WEST MCHENRY, ILLINOIS are hereby designated depositories in which funds and moneys of the CITY OF MCHENRY in the custody of GERALD J. CAREY, as CITY TREASURER may be deposited. Be It Further Resolved that no Bank herein designated as a depository shall be qualified to receive such funds or moneys until it has furnished the CITY COUNCIL with copies of the two last sworn state- ments of Resources and Liabilities , which such Bank is required to furnish to the Auditor of Public Accounts , or the Comptroller of Currency ; and Be It Further Resolved that each Bank designated as depository for such funds or moneys shall furnish the CITY COUNCIL with a copy of all Bank statements , which it is required to furnish to the Auditor of Public Accounts, or the Comptroller of Currency, while acting as such depository ; and Be It Further Resolved that if such funds or moneys are deposited in a Bank herein designated as a depository, the amounts of such deposits shall not exceed 75%7 of the Capital Stock and Surplus of such Bank, and the CITY TREASURER shall not be discharged from responsibil- ity for any such funds or moneys deposited in any Bank in excess of such limitation. Be It Further Resolved that the depositories mentioned herein have furnished that body with copies of their past two statements as furnished to the Comptroller of Currency, or Auditor of Public Accounts , which statements are approved and accepted.
