Aldermen present: Buss, Ferwerda, Freund, Nye, Regner, Tonyan. Absent: None. Motion by Ferwerda, seconded by Freund, that the minutes of the last regular meeting be approved as read. Motion carried. Motion by Freund, seconded by Tonyan, that the treasurer's report be approved as read. Motion carried. Motion by Nye, seconded by Ferwerda, that the collector's report be approved as read. Motion carried. Motion by Freund, seconded by Nye, that the clerk' s report be approved as read. Motion carried. Power & light 58.94 cv„,,,a7 7 / 19,3 Motion by Regner, seconded by Nye, to approve an agreement in which the City of McHenry will rent the property described and known as the Clay Hole to R. W. Devore for the consideration of One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars , rent to cover a period of three years from date. Ice skating priveleges to be granted to the public . Further providing that R. W. Devore adequately fence the property, with the privelege of removing the fence within one year from date. Said removal to constitute cancellation of agreement, total rental fee to be considered fully earned. Motion carried. Motion by Buss, seconded by Freund, to approve the application of the McHenry Post American Legion to conduct a Fourth of July Carnival . Motion carried. Motion by Regner, seconded by Ferwerda, to approve the official bond of Howard W. Cairns , Chief of Police. Motion carried. Motion by Nye, seconded by Tonyan,to approve the official bond of Peter Wirfs , Assistant Chief of Police. Motion carried. Motion by Buss, seconded by Regner, to pass ordinance, as read, authorizing and directing Vernon J. Knox to institute and prosecute to a conclusion, without expense to the city, foreclosure proceedings for failure to pay special assessments levied in assessments known as McHenry special assessments Nos. 16 and 24. Motion carried. Motion by Regner, seconded by Ferwerda, to pass and approve an ordinance as read, concerning the establishment of a public library in the City of McHenry and authorizing the levy of a tax for the maintenance thereof.
