ORDINANCE NO. ORD-03-1165
An Ordinance Establishing a
Police Disaster Response System
BE IT ORDAINED by the CITY COUNCIL of the CITY OF McHENRY, McHenry County,
Illinois, as follows:
WHEREAS, more than ninety (90) suburban communities have formed an organization
known as Northern Illinois Police Alarm System (N. I.P.A.S.); and
WHEREAS, the purpose of said organization is to establish procedures to be followed in an
emergency situation that threatens or causes loss of life and property and exceeds the physical and
organizational capabilities of a single unit of local government; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council of the City of McHenry after due investigation
have determined that membership in said organization will benefit the residents of said City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and City Council of the City of
McHenry, McHenry County, Illinois as follows:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor and City Clerk and Chief of Police be and are hereby
authorized to execute an Agreement for membership in the Northern Illinois Police Alarm System
Organization, a copy of said Agreement being attached hereto and being made part hereof.
