MAY 7TH, 1945
The City Council met in regular semi-monthly meeting with
Mayor Overton presiding . Aldermen present : Althoff, Buss, Freund,
Tonyan. Absent:: Ferwerda, Regner.
Motion by Buss, seconded by Freund, that the minutes of the
annual meeting and the special meeting held April 26th be approved as
read. Motion carried.
Motion by Althoff, seconded by Tonyan, that the treasurer' s
report be approved as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Freund, seconded by Buss , that the clerk' s report
be approved as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Althoff, seconded by Buss, that the following bills
be paid as approved by the finance committee:

read designating the West McHenry State Bank as depository of funds
of City Treasurer. Motion carried.

111 Motion by Buss , seconded by Freund , to designate salaries
of appointive officers and employees as follows: itxsatx Chief of
Police, $150.00 per month; Ass't. Chief of Police, $135.00 per month;
Supt . Waterworks, Sewer and Streets, $135.00 per month; Caretaker of
Streets and Alleys, $130.00 per month; Caretaker of Disposal Plant,
$130.00 per month; City Attorney, $200.00 per year; Members of Local
Board of Health, $15.00 per year. Motion carried.

J. W. North & Company to make the annual audit of city books. Motion
carried.
Motion by Buss, seconded by Althoff , to adjourn. Motion
carried.

CITY COUNCIL requested this
to designate a Bank or Banks, or other depository
in which the funds and moneys in his custody as CITY TREASURER
may bo dopositod.
NOW, THEREFORE, Be It Resolved by the CITY TREASURER
in said County and Stato, that:
West McHenry State Bank - West McHenry, Illinois
are hereby designated depositories in which the funds and moneys of the
CITY in the custody of Rpm+ L. WEBER as
CITY TREASURER may be deposited.

Be It Further Resolved that no Bank herein designated as a depository shall
be qualified to receive such funds or moneys until it has furnishod the
CITY COUNCIL with copies of tho two last sworn statements of Resources
and Liabilities, which such Bank is required to furnish to the Auditor of Public
Accounts, or to the Comptroller of Currency; and
Be It Further Resolvod that each Bank designatod as depository for such funds
or moneys shall furnish the CITY COUNCIL with a copy of all Bank
statements, which it is required to furnish to the Auditor of Public Accounts, or
the Comptroller of Currency, while acting as such depository; and
Be It Further Resolved that if such funds or moneys are dopositod in a Bank
heroin dosignatod as a depository, the amounts of such deposits shall not exceed
75% of the Capital Stock and Surplus of such Bank, and the CITY TREASURER
shall not be discharged from responsibil-
ity for any such funds or moneys dopositod in any Bank in oxcoss of such limitation.
Bo It Further Resolved that the depositories mentioned heroin have furnished
that body with copies of thoir past two statements as furnishod to tho Comptroller
of Currency, or Auditor of Public Accounts, which statements aro approved and ac-
copted.
