OCTOBER 15TH, 1945
The City Council met in regular semi-monthly meeting. In
the absence of Mayor Overton, it was moved by Alderman Althoff and
Seconded by Alderman Freund that Alderman Ferwerda be selected as
the presiding officer of the meeting . The motion carried unanimously.
Aldermen present: Althoff , Buss, Ferwerda, Freund, Regner,
Tonyan. Absent: None.
Reports of officers and city employees were received.
Motion by Tonyan, seconded by Regner, that the minutes of
the last regular meeting be approved as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Buss , seconded by Althoff, to approve the appli-
cation of Frank J . Immekus for Class "A" tavern license at 511 Main
Street. Motion carried.
A petition was presented in protest of the contemplated
erection of a dry cleaning plant on Green Street. No action was taken,
pending the visit of a council representative to the office of the
Illinois Inspection Bureau where plans were to be submitted.
A petition was presented requesting adequate street lights
on John Street , east from Elgin Road, and specified residential areas
in what is :known as the Country
Club

Bids were submitted as follows on new truck: McHenry
Equipment Company, International truck, $1875.00; R. I . Overton Motor
Sales,GMC truck, $1849.30; Schwerman Chevrolet Sales , $1642.66.
Motion by Buss, seconded by Althoff, to accept the hid
submitted by Schwerman Chevrolet Sales subject to specifications
covered in the bid and on file in the clerk' s office. Motion carried.
Motion by Freund, seconded by Althoff , to adjourn. Motion
carried.
