JULY 15H, 1946
The City Council met in regular semi-monthly meeting with
Mayor Overton presiding. Aldermen present: Buss , Freund, Regner,
Tonyan. Absent: Althoff .
Motion by Regner, seconded by Buss, that the minutes of the
last meeting be approved as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Regner, seconded by Buss, to approve the plat of
Millstream Addition Unit No. 1 to the City of McHenry. Motion
carried.
A. request was granted to Fred Meyer, as .a representative, for
the use of the city park on August llth when Msgr. C. S. Nix will
celebrate his 25th anniversary as pastor of St . Mary' s Church.
The Council was invited to attend an outdoor mass in the park
on that date. Alderman Freund was appointed by the Mayor as a
Council representative on arrangements.
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Fred Ferwerda has served many years as Alderman of
the Third Ward of the City of McHenry, and
WHEREAS, he will be unable to continue in such capacity at
the present time due to change of residence, and
WHEREAS, he has fulfilled his duties as Alderman in a capable
and fair manner,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of McHenry go on record as recognizing the loss of an able
member and, further, that the Council express its appreciation for
services rendered to the city.
I move the adoption of the above resolution and that it be
incorporated in the minutes of this meeting and a copy mailed to
Fred Ferwerda.

Motion by Buss, seconded by Freund, to approve the application
of Mrs. Clara Fitzpatrick for Class "A" Alcoholic Beverage License
at 411 West Elm Street. Motion carried.
Motion by Freund, seconded by Buss, to adjourn. Motion carried .
