Aldermen present:: Althoff , Anderson, George J. Freund, George P. Freund, Regner, Tonyan. Absent: None. Motion by Regner, seconded by George P. Freund, that the minutes of the annual meeting and the minutes of the special meeting held April 21st be approved as read. Motion carried. Motion by George P. Freund, seconded by George J. Freund, that the treasurer' s report be approved as read. Motion carried. Motion by Tonyan, seconded by Anderson, that the clerk' s report be approved as read. Motion carried. Motion by Regner , seconded by George J. Freund, that the following bills be paid as approved by the finance committee: Motion carried. Freund, to authorize the purchasing committee, as appointed for the current fiscal year, to IP check the following bids submitted on police car and proceed with purchase: Figures are net after deducting trade-in allowance on present ' 41 Ford Police car: Blake Motor Sales - 1947 Dodge - $1050.00 Clary :Chevrolet Sales - 1947 Chev. Aerosedan - 1100.00 Overton Motor Sales - 1947 Buick - 1210.00 1947 Pontiac "6" - 1068.00 1947 Pontiac "8" - 1128.00 Motion carried Page two---May 5th, 1947 meeting Motion by Anderson, seconded by George P. Freund, that the salaries of city employees or appointed officers beginning May 1, 1947 be as follows : Chief of Police, $185.00 per month; two police officers at $175.00- per month; Supt . Waterworks, Sewer and Streets, $150.00 per month; Caretaker of Streets and Alleys, $135.00 per month; Caretaker of Disposal Plant, $135.00 per month; City Attorney, $200.00 per year ; Members of Local Board of Health, $15.00 per year. Motion carried. II Mayor Overton made the following appointments for the ensuing fiscal year: Attorney - Vernon J. Knox Collector - Mayme Buss Police - Lester R. Bacon, Chief. John J. McCarthy Supt. Freund, to approve the appointments as made by the mayor. Motion carried. Motion by Althoff, seconded by George J. Freund, to pass and approve Ordinance designating Mayor Overton, Alderman George P. Freund and Alderman Regner as members of the Board of Local Improve- ments. Motion carried. Motion by Regner, seconded by George P. Freund, to hire the firm of J. W. North & Company to make the annual audit of city books covering the past fiscal year. Motion carried. Motion by George P. Freund , seconded by Althoff, to adjourn.
