APRIL 25, 1949
• A special meeting of the City Council with Mayor Freund presiding
was held for the purpose of acting on applications for Alcoholic Liquor Licenses
and other new business that might come before the Council. Aldermen present:
Althoff, Anderson, Blake, Freund, Tonyan, Vycital. Absent: None.
/1 The following Resolutions were presented, passed and approved:
"WHEREAS, R. I. Overton has served on the VillageBoa rd offt McHenry
and City Council of McHenry as Alderman and Mayor during period
consecutive years, and toward the welfare
WHEREAS, he has devoted much time and energy
and growth of McHenry, and WHEREAS, the citizens of have recognized his ability and
McHenry
value to McHenry by choosing him to serve and represent them over this unusual
length of time, and
WHEREAS, he has now chosen to retire from public Council City
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City
of McHenry extend its sincere appreciation in behalf of the citizens of McHenry
for the aforementioned services."
I move the adoption of the above resolution, that it be

WHEREAS, he has devoted an extraordinary amount time in the interest
of McHenry, and
WHEREAS, he has served both as chairman and as a member of important
committees during the term of office, and
WHEREAS, he has filled the office of Alderman efficiently and with
the welfare of the City uppermost in his mind,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the

appreciation in behalf of the citizens of McHenry."

The City Council met for the annual meeting with Mayor Overton
presiding. Aldermen present: Althoff, Anderson, George J. Freund, George P.
Freund, Tonyan. Absent: Regner.
1 Motion by Althoff, seconded by Anderson, that the minutes of the
last regular meeting be approved as read. Motion carried.

Motion by George J. Freund, seconded by Tonyan, that the treasurer's
report for the month of April be approved as read. Motion carried.
Motion by George P. Freund, seconded by Anderson, that the
collector's report for the month of April be approved as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Anderson, seconded by George J. Freund, that the clerk's
report for the month of April be approved as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Althoff, seconded by George J. Freund, that the treasurer' s
annual report be approved as read. Motion carried.
