HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 12/19/1949 - City Council COUNCIL ROOM DECEMBER 19, 1949 The City Council met in regular semi-monthly meeting with Mayor Freund presiding. Aldermen present: Althoff, Anderson, Blake, Freund, Vycital. 110 Absent: None. Motion by Vycital, seconded by Freund, that the minutes of the last meeting be approved as read. Motion carried. Motion by Althoff, seconded by Blake, to instruct the City Clerk to write to the Illinois Commerce Commission to request notification of dates of hearing regarding Chicago & Northwestern Railway Company Case No. 38011 in the matter of application for authority to discontinue trains 627 and 686 and, further, that a representative of the City Council meet with representatives of the McHenry Business Men's Association and the McHenry Township Association, Inc. to discuss any necessary action. Motion carried. Motion by Freund, seconded by Vycital, to direct a letter signed by Mayor Freund to the County Board of McHenry County, c/o R. D. Woods, Clerk, and copy of the letter to Math N. Schmitt, C#airman of the County Board, requesting action on necessary repairs to the bridge massing Fox River at Pearl Street, McHenry. Motion carried. Officers, city employees and committees reported on activities in various departments. The Athletic Field Field Committee reported that lights had been installed and that the new ice-skating pond was in readiness for� use. Motion by Althoff, seconded by Anderson, to adjourn.
