SEPTEMBER 5, 1950
The City Council met in regular semimonthly meeting with Mayor
Freund presiding. Aldermen present: Althoff, Anderson, Freund, Rothermel,
Thennes, Vycital. Absent: None.
Motion by Freund, seconded by Anderson, that the minutes of the
11 last meeting be approved as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Vycital, seconded by Thennes, to open bids on storm sewer
tile pertaining Maintenance of SBI Rt. 31 and 120 Extensions (Motor Fuel Tax).
Motion carried.
Bids were opened and referred to Mr. Thomas of the State of Illinois,
• Division of Highways.
Motion by Anderson, seconded by Rothermel, to accept the Material
Proposal bid submitted by Midwest Concrete Pipe Company, low bidder conforming
to specifications, unit price $1.65, total $1699.50, immediate delivery, 2% dis count.
Motion carried.
Motion by Althoff, seconded by Freund, to approve the collector's
report as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Freund, seconded by Vycital, to approve the clerk's report
as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Anderson, seconded by Thennes, that the following bills be
paid as approved by the finance committee:

Motion by Thennes, seconded by Rothermel, to approve Class "A"
Alcoholic Beverage license application of Anton Joknis, subject to investigation
and approval of the license committee. Motion carried.
Motion by Freund, seconded by Thennes, to pass ordinance, as read, to
vacate street platted as Stenger Avenue in original plat of Owen, Stenger and
Allen Addition to McHenry. Motion carried.
Motion by Freund, seconded by Rothermel, to authorize the Board of
• Local Improvements to negotiate with the Duncan Meter Corporation for the
purchase of parking meters, in accordance with proposal submitted designating
antci y qi Mgr A%a9�W�p$tely installed, and further to authorize the mayor
tpon roll B~aiI, £1e ollowing vote was recorded:
"Not Voting": Althoff
Voting "Yes": Anderson, Freund, Rothermel, Thennes, Vycital.
Motion carried.
Motion by Althoff, seconded by Thennes, to adopt the following
resolution:
"WHEREAS, Under House Bill #820 of the 66th General Assembly, the
City of McHenry must prepare reports and maps for the selection of an Arterial
Street System and for a Long Range Street Plan,
WHEREAS, the City of McHenry has secured the services of Victor H.
Kasser, Engineer, to prepare these reports,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that there is hereby appropriated the sum
of Ninety-five Dollars ($95.00) of Motor Fuel Tax funds to pay for the actual
cost of the work, and the Department of Public Works is requested to certify
these funds upon approval of this Resolution."
Motion carried.
Motion by Althoff, seconded by Anderson, to pay Suburban Oil Company
the sum of $1,747.50 and Victor H. Kasser the sum of $90.00 for services in
110 connection with MFT maintenance of John Street, Arterial Street No. 5. Motion
carried.
Motion by Althoff, seconded by Freund, to adjourn. Motion carried.
