Aldermen present: Anderson, Freund, Rothermel, Vycital. Absent: Althoff, Thennes. 10 Motion by Vycital, seconded by Rothermel, that the minutes of the last meeting be approved as read. Motion carried. Motion by Freund, seconded by Vycital, that the treasurer's report be approved as read. Motion carried. Motion by Anderson, seconded by Freund, that the collector's report be approved as read. Motion carried. Motion by Vycital, seconded by Rothermel, that the clerk's report be approved as read. M. Motion carried. City Attorney John E. Looze presented a letter from the Illinois Muni- cipal League explaining the Social Security Act as it pertains the city. Motion by Freund, seconded by Rothermel, to contribute the sum of ten dollars to the Illinois Municipal League to help defray cost of test case to determine the constitutionality of the Social Security Act as it pertains municipalities of less than 10,000 population. Motion carried. Mayor Freund appointed the following as members of the Zoning Board of Appeals: Floyd E. Covalt (chairman), Henry B. Tonyan, Charles W. Vycital, John H. Greene and Carl J. Freund. Motion by Freund, seconded by Anderson, to approve the appointments of members of the Zoning Board of Appeals as made by the Mayor. Motion carried. Mayer Freund appointed Earl R. Walsh as Building Commissioner. Motion by Vycital, seconded by Rothermel, to approve the appointment of Building Commissioner as made by the Mayor. Motion carried.
