NOVEMBER 3, 1952
The City Council met in regular semi-monthly meeting with Mayor
Freund presiding. Aldermen present: Althoff, Anderson, Freund, Rothermel,
Thennes, Vycital. Absent: None.
Motion by Freund, seconded by Vycital, that the minutes of the last
meeting be approved as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Rothermel, seconded by Anderson, that the treasurer' s report
be approved as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Freund, seconded by Thennes, that the collector's report
be approved as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Anderson, seconded by Rothermel, that the clerk's report
be approved as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Anderson, seconded by Thennes, that the following bills be
paid as approved by the finance committee:

Motion by Freund, seconded by Vycital, to approve the application
of Gus Nordstrom for Class "A" Alcoholic Beverage License. Motion carried.
Motion by Rothermel, seconded by Thennes, to approve the petition
of William H. Althoff and Eleanor Althoff for variation of zoning requirements
as recommended by the Zoning Board of Appeals. NWAxeuxxouxixeix Not voting: Althoff.
Voting yes: Anderson, Freund, Rothermel, Thennes, Vycital. Motion carried.
Motion by Vycital, seconded by Freund, to pass and approve the following
resolution:
"RESOLVED that the City attorney of the City of McHenry, John E. Looze,
prepare and send to the Board of Appeals and Board of Supervisors of McHenry
County, Illinois a petition that the property acquired by the City of McHenry for
use as a public library be freed from any taxes assessed by any State, County or
Municipal tax body as is the legal right for such public lands."
Motion carried.
Motion by Rothermel, seconded by Anderson, to adjourn. Motion carried.
