JUNE 1, 1953
The City Council met in regular semi-monthly meeting with Mayor
Freund presiding. Aldermen present: Anderson, Buchert, Freund, Johnson,
S Rothermel, Thennes. Absent: None.
Motion by Rothermel, seconded by Johnson, that the minutes of the
last meeting be approved as read. Motion carried.
- Motion by Anderson, seconded by Buchert, to approve the Treasurer's
report as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Freund, seconded by Thennes, to approve the collector's
report as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Johnson, seconded by Freund, to approve the clerk's report
as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Rothermel, seconded by Buchert, that the following bills
be paid as approved by the finance committee:

The clerk was instructed to contact City Engineer, V. H. Kassel., to
secure specifications for proposed surfacing of roads in Millstream Addition.
Motion by Rothermel, seconded by Johnson, to approve the application
of American Legion Post No. 491 to hold carnival on the Legion grounds July 2,
3, 4, and 5th. Motion carried.
Motion by Freund, seconded by Anderson, to approve the appointment, as
made by Mayor Freund, of the following named as members of the McHenry Library
Board: Mrs. C. W. Goodell, Mrs. C. H. Duker, Mrs. Clarence Anglese, Mrs. George
Kramer, Mrs. R. L. Weber and Mrs. A. J. Wirtz. Motion carried.
Motion by Johnson, seconded by Rothermel, to instruct and authorize City
Attorney John E. Looze to prepare and present petition to the McHenry County
• Board of Supervisors reguesting assistance in construction of new bridge and
culvert on South Green Street (Elgin Road) approximately 200 feet north of
Park Avenue in the City of McHenry. Motion carried.
Motion by Freund, seconded by Anderson, to adjourn. Motion carried.
