JUNE 21, 1954
The City Council met in regular session. Due to the temporary absence
of Mayor Freund, and a quoram being present, the Council members unanimously
selected Alderman Arnold Anderson as Mayor Pro Tem for the purpose of conducting
the meeting. Aldermen present: Buchert, Freund, Johnson, Rothermel, Thennes.
Absent: None.
Motion byBuchert,, seconded by Rothermel, to approve the minutes of the
last meeting as read. Motion carried.
The Council received reports of various appointed officers and employees.
Mayor Freund was present at this point and conducted the remainder of
the meeting.
The Clerk was instructed to again communicate with the Greyhound Bus Co.
regarding routes and parking of buses in the city.
Motion by.Anderson, seconded by Freund, to pay the American National
Bank and Trust Company the sum of $1443.75 interest and MOO service charge due
July 1, 1954 on Street Light Bonds. Motion carried. VI
Motion by Rothermel, seconded by Buchert, to approve the application of
Harry Phoenix for Class "A" Alcoholic Beverage License upon surrender of existing
license issued to Gus Nordstrom at same location. Motion carried.
Motion by Buchert, seconded by Johnson, to instruct the Glerk to write
to Herman Mass Construction Co. of Algonquin regarding failure to remove pilings
under Green Street Bridge at Boone Creek, requesting definite answer on or before
the next regular meeting, July 5, 1954. Motion carried.
Motion by Johnson, seconded by Rothermel, to instruct the Clerk to write
to A.P. Freund regarding installation of manhole covers in Millstream Park Addition,
requesting definite answer on or before the next regular meeting, July 5, 1954.
Motion carried.
Motion by Freund, seconded by Buchert, to adjourn. Motion carried.
