SEPTEMBER 7, 1954
The City Council met in regular semi-monthly meeting with Mayor Freund presiding.
Aldermen present: Anderson, Freund, Johnson, Thennes. Absent: Buchert, Rothermel.
111 Motion by Anderson, seconded by Freund, to approve the minutes of the last meeting
as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Freund, seconded by Johnson, to approve the treasurer's report as read.
Motion carried.
Motion by Anderson, seconded by Thennes, to approve the collector's report as
read. Motion carried.
Motion by Thennes, seconded by Johnson, to approve the clerk's report as read.
Motion carried.
Motion by Anderson, seconded by Johnson, to pay the following bills as approved
by the finance committee.

Motion by Thennes, seconded by Johnson, to proceed with alternate plans for
construction of bridge (culvert and pavement widening) on South Green Street, designated
under Motor Fuel Tax Resolution as Section 3 C.S. Motion carried.
Motion by Thennes, seconded by Freund, to pass and approve the annual Tax Levy
Ordinance in the amount of $33,436.00. Motion carried.
Motion by Freund, seconded by Johnson, to approve the application of Mrs. Mayme
Veverka for zoning variation as recommended by the Zoning Board of Appeals. Upon roll
call, Aldermen Anderson, Freund and Johnson voted "yes". Alderman Thennes, being an
interested party in the property concerned in the variation, did not vote. Mayor Freund
voted "yes". Motion carried.
Motion by Anderson, seconded by Thennes, to open bids submitted for furnishing the
city with a new truck. Motion carried.
