AUGUST 1, 1955
The City Council met in regular semi-monthly meeting with Mayor Freund
presiding. Aldermen present: Antonson, Brown, Buchert, Gausden, Johnson,
Rothermel. Absents None.
Motion by Rothermel, seconded by Brown, to approve the minutes of the last
meeting as read. Motion carried.
110 Motion by Buchert, seconded by Gausden, to approve the treasurer's report
as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Brown, seconded by Antonson, to approve the collector's report
as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Buchert, seconded by Gausden, to approve the clerk's report as
read. Motion carried.
Motion by Buchert, seconded by Brown, to pay the following bills as approved
by the finance committees

Motion by Antonson, seconded by Brown, to deny the petition of Lon H. J. Smith
and Laura F. Smith for reclassification of certain property located at the inter-
section of Mill Street and Crystal Lake Road as recommended by the City of McHenry
Zoning Board of Appeals. Motion carried.
Motion by Johnson, seconded by Brown, to grant the request of the McHenry
Chamber of Commerce to grant free parking in metered areas on Friday, August 12,
1955 (Dollar Day) with stipulation that no coverings or stickers be placed on
meters. Motion carried.
Motion by Brown, seconded by Rothermel, to adopt resolution to State of Illinois,
Division of Highways, appropriating the sum of Six Thousand Six Hundred Seventy-five
Dollars ($6675.00) from MF'T Funds for the payment of bonds and interest outstanding
for construction of Green Street Bridge (Rt. A.S. 2, Section 2B-CS). Motion carried.
Motion by Antonson, seconded by Johnson, to adopt resolution to the County
Clerk of McHenry County reducing 1955 tax levy for Bonds and Interest outstanding
on Green Street Bridge (Rt. A.S. 2, Section 2B-CS) in the amount of Three Thousand
Three Hundred Thirty-Seven dollars and fifty cents ($3337.50). Motion carried.
Motion by Brown, seconded by Buchert, to adjourn. Motion carried.
