HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 12/07/1955 - City Council SPECIAL MEETING DECEMBER 7, 1955 A special meeting of the City Council was called by Mayor Freund at 8 P.M., December 7, 1955 for the purpose of reviewing sewage disposal plant plans with engineers, canvassing ballots of special election held December 6, 1955, and other business that might come before the Council. Aldermen present: Antonson, Brown, buchert, Gausden, Johnson. Absent: None. City and consulting engineers presented completed plans for disposal plant improvements previous to submission to state department for final approval. Mayor Freund appointed Aldermen Antonson, Brown and Gausden to canvas the ballots cast at special election December 6, 1955 for the election of two aldermen. The canvassing committee reported the following results of votes received: Ward No. 2 - Glenn D. Dixon - 8)4 Robert A. Stueben - 70 Spoiled ballots - 3 Ward No. 3 - George J. Kauss, Jr. - 79 William H. Goettsche - 26 Spoiled ballots - 5 Motion by Buchert, seconded by Johnson, that Glenn D. Dixon, having received the highest number of votes in Ward No. 2, be declared elected to the office of Alderman to fill the unexpired term of Donald Johnson. Motion carried. Motion by Johnson, seconded by Buchert, that George J. Kauss, Jr., having received the highest number of votes in Ward No. 3, be declared elected to the office of Alderman to fill the unexpired term of Leo G. Rothermel. Motion carried.
