HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 01/16/1956 - City Council REGULAR MEETING JANUARY 16TH, 1956 The City Council met in regular semi-monthly meeting with Mayor Freund presiding. Aldermen present: Antonson, Brown, Buchert, Dixon, Gausden, Kauss. Absent: None. Motion by Gausden, seconded by Antonson, to approve the minutes of the last meeting as read. Motion carried. Motion by Antonson, seconded by Dixon, to approve installation of additional street lights on South Green Street and Edgebrook Heights as per proposal sub- mitted by Public Service Company, specifying 4000 lumen rating, and adding one light at South Green Street Bridge. Motion carried. Motion by Gausden, seconded by Buchert, approving written agreement signed by Martin J. Cooney pertaining acquisition of site for development of water well in Cooney Heights addition. Motion carried. Motion by Gausden, seconded by Antonson, to direct the City Engineer to determine advisability of developing water well on Lot 32 Cooney Heights or abandoning site in favor of Lot 16 and to submit plans and specifications for well and pump house. Motion carried. Motion by Antonson, seconded by Beichert, to pass and approve Resolution For Improvement By Municipality Under The Motor Fuel Tax Law to the State of Illinois, appropriating the sumof Two Thousand Dollars ($2000.00) for prepara- tion of plans for widening and resurfacing Elm Street, disignated as 5-C.S. Motion carried. Motion by Brown, seconded by Kauss, to approve proposal submitted by George Brda for replacing gutters and downspouts on City Hall building at a cost of $112.72. Motion carried.
