HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 04/16/1956 - City Council REGULAR MEETING APRIL 16, 1956 The City Council met in regular semi-monthly meeting with Mayor Freund presiding. Aldermen present: Antonson, Brown, Dixon, Buchert, Gausden, Kauss. Absent: None. 1110 Motion by Gausden, seconded by Antonson, to approve the minutes of the last meeting as read. Motion carried. Motion by Brown, seconded by Gausden, to purchase Harley-Davidson police motorcycle as per proposal submitted by Robert W. Breul, including Pyrene Extinguisher and bracket, First Aid Kit in metal box and Pursuit Lamps with bracket, Switch and blinker unit, at a total cost of $1210.00. Upon roll call the following aldermen voted "Yes": Antonson, Brown, Buchert, Gausden, Kauss. Alderman Dixon voted 'No". The mayor declared the motion carried. Motion by Gausden, seconded by Kauss, to pass and approve Resolution Providing For a Joint City-State Improvement Along Elm Street (S.B.I. 20 Ext.) State Section 14-X-Z, City Section 5-CS. Motion carried. Motion by Brown, seconded by Buchert, to authorize the Waterworks Committee to proceed with test wells (not exceeding four) for the purpose of determining site of additional water supply. Motion carried. Motion by Gausden, seconded by Antonson, to approve contract between the City of McHenry and W. A. Rakow and Associates to perform Motor Fuel Tax engineering services from May 1, 1956 to April 30, 1957. Motion carried. Motion by Brown, seconded by Buchert, to designate Monday, April 30, 1956, 8 P.M. as the date and time for the Annual Meeting of the City Council. Motion carried. Motion by Antonson, seconded by Dixon, to purchase pump for sewer department from Baker Equipment Co. as per the following quotation: 1 - New Homelite model 20DP3-1 self priming diaphragm pump, 5000 gallons per hour capacity as per specifications - $395.00 - less $50.00 trade in allowance on old unit.
