APRIL 30, 1956
The City Council of McHenry met in Annual Meeting Monday,
April 30, 1956 at 8 P.M. with Mayor Freund presiding. Aldermen presents
Antonson, Brown, Buchert, Dixon, Gausden, Kauss. Absent: None.
Motion by Buchert, seconded by Kauss, to approve the minutes
110 of the last regular meeting as read. Motion carried.

Motion by Gausden, seconded by Kauss, to approve the clerk's
report for the month of April as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Gausden, seconded by Brown, to approve the treasurer's
annual report as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Gausden, seconded by Antonson, to approve the collector's
annual report as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Brown, sedonded by Kauss, to approve the clerk's
annual, report as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Buchert, seconded by Dixon, to pay the following bills

"Ordinance Relating To Parking On Elm Street Between Richmond Road And The Fox
River Bridge". Motion carried.
Motion by Gausden, seconded by Dixon, to pass and approve an
"Ordinance Relating To Sanitary Sewerage And Industrial Waste Water" pertaining
joint City-State Elm Street improvement. Motion carried.
Motion by Brown, seconded by Kauss, to pass and approve an "Ordinance
Relating To Driveway Or Entrance Openings On Elm Street From Richmond Road To The
Fox flyer Bridge". Motion carried.

Alderman Gausden presented an ordinance pertaining $160,000.00
Sewer Improvement Bond Issue. Following reading of the ordinance in its entirety,
Alderman Brown, seconded by Alderman Buchert, moved its passage and approval.
Voting "Aye": Antonson, Brown, Buchert, Dixon, Gausden, Kauss.
Voting "Nay": None.

Motion carried.
Motion by Gausden, seconded by Antonson, to pass and approve
ordinance refunding the $160,000.00 Sewer Improvement Bond Issue and reissue
on shorter term. Motion carried.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the health and welfare of the residents of our community
is of utmost concern, and
WE EMS, the appearance and attractiveness of homes, business places

and vacant property are important in the substantial growth of our
community, and
WHEREAS, cleanliness discourages the spread of dread diseases,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the week starting Monday,
April 30th, 1956 be proclaimed Clean-Up Week in the City of McHenry,
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the residents of the City of McHenry
put forth united effort in a successful campaign to beautify our city.
