REGULAR MEETING
JULY 14- 1956
The City Council met in regular semi-monthly meeting with Mayor Freund
presiding. Aldermen present: Antonson, Buchert, Dixon, Gausden. Absents
Brown, Kauss.
11/1 Motion by Gausden, seconded by Antonson, to approve the minutes of the
last meeting as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Gausden, seconded by Antonson, to accept sewer and water main
installations in Third Street, from John Street to James Street, as approved by
the City Engineer and advise by letter Arnold Magnuson and Rev. A. C. Lobits
(Property owners making installations) of the acceptance. Motion carried.
Motion by Antonson, seconded by Buchert, to secure traffic counts,
through the City Engineer, at Elm Street and Riverside Drive, Elm Street and
Richmond Road, Main Street and Front Street at a cost of $50.00 each location,
total of $150.00. Motion carried.
Motion by Gausden, seconded by Antonson, to establish city employees'
vacation, effective May 1, 1956 as follows:
After one year of employment by the city, each employee shall be entitled
to a one week vacation, providing time used on sick leave shall be deducted
from vacation period.
After two or more years of employment by the city, each employee shall
be entitled to a two week vacation, providing time used on sick leave shall be
deducted from vacation period.
Motion carried.
Motion by Buchert, seconded by Dixon, to pass and approve the Annual
Appropriation Ordinance for the current fiscal year, as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Dixon., seconded by Antonson, to hold a special meeting of the
City Council at 8 P.M. Monday, July 23rd, 1956 at the City Hall for the purpose
of formulating new Building Code, it being agreed that Building Contractors,
Plumbing & Heating Contractors and Electrical Contractors be asked to attend
the special meeting. Motion carried.
Motion by Antonson, seconded by Buchert, to adjourn. Motion carried.
