MARCH 18TH, 1957
The City Council met in regular semi-monthly meeting with Mayor Freund
presiding. Aldermen present: Antonson, Brown, Dixon, Gausden. Absent: Buchert.
Motion by Gausden, seconded by Antonson, to approve the minutes of the
last meeting as read. Motion carried.
1 Motion by Dixon, seconded by Antonson, to open bids submitted for con-
struction of sewer lift at Anne Street location in Edgebrook Heights Subdivision.
Motion carried.
The following bids were received and reviewed by the Council:
Lakeland Construction Co., Inc. - $20,672.25
George Scheflow - $21,906.00
Inland Lakes Water & Sewer Co. - $22,775.73
Motion by Gausden, seconded by Brown, to table the above bids until the
subdividers of Edgebrook Heights are contacted to determine the amount of their
participation in the construction cost. Motion carried.
Motion by Gausden, seconded by Antonson, to return 10% bid checks to
the two highest bidders, namely:
George Scheflow - $2200.00
Inland lakes Sewer & Water.Co. - $2300.00
Motion carried.
Motion by Gausden, seconded by Brown, to grant request of the Woman's
Auxiliary To McHenry Hospital for use of the City Park for an art and hobby
exhibit either July 20th or July 27th, 1957, the clerk to advise the applicant
by letter of the Council's action. Motion carried.
Motion by Brown, seconded by Dixon, to approve the application of The
Salvation Army to hold their annual tag day (known as Doughnut Day) in McHenry,
June 1l4, 1957. Motion carried.
Motion by Brown, seconded by Antonson, to pass and approve ordinance
pertaining the petition of Robert E. Stoller and Irene D. Stoller for a change
in zoning classification as per recommendation of the Zoning Board of Appeals
following hearing of March 8, 1957. Motion carried.
Motion by Antonson, seconded by Dixon, to pass and approve ordinance
fixing the polling places and designating the judges and clerks of election
for the city election to be held April 16, 1957. Motion carried.
Motion by Dixon, seconded by Antonson, to pay the claim of Mrs. Della
Mathews in the amount of $172.00 for damages to her dwelling as result of #119)-0
paint spray at time of painting city water tower. Motion carried.
