NOVE BER 18, 1957
' The City Council met in regular semi-monthly meeting with Mayor
Freund presiding. Aldermen present: Bolger, Newkirk, Pitzen, Thennes.
Absent: Brown, Holly.
Motion by Pitsen, seconded by Bolger, to approve the minutes
of the last meeting as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Thennes, seconded by Pitzen, to open bids pertaining
the Millstream Park area sewer project. Motion carried.
The following bids were received and referred to the City Engineer
for cross-check on unit prices:
Bacon Bros. and W. G. Hoy $68,188.20
Lakeland Construction Co., Inc. $67,205.70
Preston-Woodal Company $60,353.00
Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Newkirk, to postpone the letting
of contract on above sewer construction until a time following deposit of
property owner's share of cost in escrow. Motion carried.
Motion by Bolger, Seconded by Newkirk, to open bids for furnishing
new police car. Motion carried.
The following bids (Net after trade-in allowance) were received:
A. S. Blake Motors, Inc.:
1958 Plymouth $1,205.00
1958 Dodge Pursuit $1,399.00
Motion by Bolger, seconded by Thennes, to purchase Dodge Pursuit
car from A. S. Blake Motors, Inc. for the sum of $1,399.00 as per proposal
submitted. Motion carried.
Motion by Thennes, seconded by Bolger, to pay Elmer Glosson the sum
of $685.90 for sewer extension as per agreement with Arthur Tongan and the
McHenry Hospital. Motion carried. check #1399
Motion by Thennes, seconded by Bolger, to pay the following bills:
Suburban Oil Company $234.80 check #12422
Bob Breul's Harley-Davidson $134.90 #124214h
Nelson Chevrolet Company $ 55.94 #1211.23 ti
Motion carried.
Motion by Thennes, seconded by Pitzen, to adjourn. Motion carried.
