Aldermen present: Bolger, Brown, Holly, Newkirk, Pitzen, Thennes. Absent: None. 11/1 Motion by Holly, seconded by Bolger to approve the minutes of the last regular meeting held June 16, 1958 and the special meeting held June 30, 1958 as read. Motion carried. Motion by Brown, seconded by Thennes, to approve the treasurer's report as read. Motion carried. Motion by Thennes, seconded by Bolger, to approve the collector's report as read. Motion carried. Motion by Holly, seconded by Newkirk, to approve the clerk's report as read. Motion carried. Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Brown, to authorize Mayor Ffieund to enter into agreement with Harold J. Motion carried. Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Thennes, to accept check received from Dr. George Alvary in the amount of $5 017.00 as his portion of cost of water main extension along the east side of Elgin Road (South Green Street), and to reject the bid of E. do M. Septic Service as an incomplete bid, and enter into contract with Lakeland Construction Company as per proposal submitted in the amount of $6,359.50. Motion carried. Motion by Thennes, seconded by Brown, to award contract to Lakeland Con- struction Company fcr construction of water main along Bauer Avenue as per proposal in amount of $5,598.00. Motion carried. Motion by Thennes, seconded by Holly, to authorize the City Attorney to advise the State of Illinois Division of Waterways that the city would favor con- struction of a slip to remove boats from Boone Creek onto the G. F. Markeson proposed building site at the corner of Elm Street and Freund Avenue rather than construction of track and hoist along the edge of the Creek. Motion carried. Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Holly, to authorize the Street and Alley Committee to proceed with storm sewer construction and street improvement in the Church Street — Freund Avenue area.
