HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 04/20/1964 - City Council REGULAR MEETING APRIL 20, 1964 The City Council met in regular semi-monthly meeting with Mayor Doherty presiding. Aldermen present: Bolger, Conway, Etten, Huck, Pitzen, Smith. Absent: None. Motion by Huck, seconded by Conway, to approve minutes of regular meeting held April 6th, special meeting held April 8th, and special meeting held April 13th. Motion carried. Motion by Bolger, seconded by Huck, to approve the Mayor's appointment of Clarence Hummel as a pp policeman, subject to required physical examination. Motion carried. Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Smith, to pay the following Bond and Interest items due the American National Bank and Trust Co. of Chicago May 1, 1964: PA-11912 - 4% Waterworks & Sewer Rev. Bonds: Principal $4,000.00 Interest 3,280.00 Ck. #3289 Serv. Fee 12.20 17,292.20 PA-17242 - 4 Waterworks & Sewer Rev. Bonds: Principal $5,000.00 Interest 787.50 Ck. #3290 Serv. Fee 10.00 $5,797.50 Motion carried. Motion by Smith, seconded by Conway, to pass and approve ordinance repealing Ordinance MC-5, providing for parallel parking, as passed and approved on the 4th day of February, 1963, and to adopt an ordinance concerning parallel parking amending Article IV, Chapter 13 of the Municipal Code, and to adopt ordinance concerning Storm Sewers and Sanitary Sewers, Article 1, Chapter 16. Motion carried. Motion by Conway, seconded by Bolger, to pass and approve An Ordinance amending the Zoning Ordinance of the City of McHenry granting the petition of the McHenry Savings and Loan Association and to amend the Zoning Ordinance to include Banks, Savings and Loan Associations and other Financial Institutions under "B-1" classification, as recommended by the Zoning Board of Appeals. Motion carried. Motion by Bolger, seconded by Smith, to pass and approve an ordinance amending the Zoning Ordinance of the City of McHenry, granting variation in the matter of application of the Estate of Martin Cooney, deceased, from "I-4" to "B-3" and give further study to classification in the area, as recommended by the Zoning Board of Appeals. Motion carried. Motion by Bolger, seconded by Smith, to employ Nancy Fischer as Life Guard at the McHenry Beach on Fox River for the 1964 summer season. Motion carried. �I. SPECIAL MEETING APRIL 13, 1964 At the call of Mayor Doherty, a Special Meeting of the City Council was held Monday, April 13, 1964 at 8 P.M. in the Council Room. Aldermen present: Bolger, Conway, Etten, Huck, Pitzen, Smith. Absent: None. Following discussion of Maple Avenue Road Improvement, it was decided that grades would be established and submitted with further estimates of cost. A representative of Ladd Enterprises was present and, following study of traffic it was agreed that proposed bridge crossing Boone Creek at North Avenue should be changed to Millstream Drive.
