APRIL 21, 1965
A special meeting of the City Council was held April 21, 1965
at 8 P.M. in the City Hall for the purpose of canvassing returns of the
city election held April 20, 1965.
The following vote was found recorded by the Judges of Election:
For Mayor: Donald P. Doherty, 766; E. J. Gausden, 2; Robert Hansen, 1;
`-' M. F. Clark, 7; Robert Bruce, 1; Edward Gausden, 2;
Don Hoenes, 1; Harry Conway, 1; Joe Gausden, 2; Ernest
Freund, 1; Earl Rees, 1; Richard Zieman, 1; Arnold
Anderson, 1; Boots Davis, 1; Mitzie Griffith, 1.
For City Clerk: Earl R. Walsh, 795; Fred Fowles, 1; Arnold Anderson, 1.
For City Treasurer: Thomas F. Bolger, 777; Richard Zieman, 2;
Lee Cooney, 1; Charles Vycital, 1; Don Seaton, 1.
For Alderman Ward No. 1: Joseph A. Etten, 201; Walter Carey, 1;
Bud Adams, 1.
For Alderman Ward No. 2: Theodore N. Pitzen, 147; Ray Rote, 1.
For Alderman Ward No. 3: Raymond L. Smith, 154; Earl J. Rees, 132.
For Alderman Ward No. 4: Arthur V. Jackson, 169; Gerald J. Wegener, 168;
Thomas F. Landre, 71.
Motion by Conway, seconded by Huck, that the following candidates,
having received the highest number of votes for their respective offices, be
declared elected:
Mayor: Donald P. Doherty
City Clerk: Earl R. Walsh
City Treasurer: Thomas F. Bolger
Aldermen: Ward No. 1 - Joseph A. Etten
Ward No. 2 - Theodore N. Pitzen
Ward No. 3 - Raymond L. Smith
Ward No. 4 - Arthur V. Jackson and Gerald J. Wegener
Motion carried.
Motion by Huck, seconded by Smith, to adjourn. Motion carried.
