HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 04/26/1965 - City Council SPECIAL MEETING APRIL 26, 1965 Following adjournment of the annual meeting of the City Council, a special meeting was held Monday, April 26, 1965, with Mayor Doherty presiding. Roll Call: Present - Conway, Etten, Huck, Jackson, Pitzen, Smith, Wegener. Alderman Bolger was in attendance following_roll call. In a drawing to determine terms of newly elected alderman in the Fourth Ward, Alderman Jackson drew the two (2) year term and Alderman Wegener drew the four (4) year term. Motion by Conway, seconded by Etten, to approve the following applications for Class "A" Alcoholic Beverage licenses: Victor S. Adams Ernest Muzzillo William Beaton Catherine B. Nolan Ernest Freund and Pieroni's, Inc. Carolyn Justen "R" Place, Inc.,an I11. Corp. R. J. Genz Riverside Hotel - Fox Hole Tap Don Hoenes Lloyd J. Simon Richard Jager Elmer Steinsdorfer McHenry Country Club Edmund Turkowski Sam D. Marsella Gus Unti Motion carried. Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Smith, to approve the application of the American Legion Post #491 for Class "E" Alcoholic Beverage license. Motion carried. Motion by- Huck, seconded by Conway, to approve the applications of the following for Class "C" Package Liquor licenses: Nye Drug, Inc. Millstream Drugs, Inc. Motion carried. Motion by Jackson, seconded by Wegener, to approve the Public Official Bonds of the Mayor, City Treasurer and City Clerk. Motion carried. Motion by Etten, seconded by Huck, to pass a resolution designating the McHenry State Bank as depository of funds of the City Treasurer. Motion carried. Motion by Smith, seconded by Huck, to hire Wm. R. North & Associates to make the annual audit of city accounts. Motion carried. Clark Police Sergeant: Kenneth P. Espey Police Officers: John R. Weichmann, Clarence J. Hummel, Robert H. Kranz Desk Officers: Winfield W. Hagberg, Edward J. Tussey, Cyril Bolster, James H. McEnery. Shay Motion by Smith, seconded by Pitzen, to approve Mayor Doherty's appointment of John E. Looze as City Attorney. Motion carried. A letter from Attorney Robert A. Stueben pertaining renewal of lease with the McHenry American Legion Post for rental of parking area was referred to the Public Property Committee. Representatives of the Admiral Corporation explained proposed plans for expansion of their plant and sought assistance in securing additional parking area. Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Huck, to pass and approve ordinance amending the zoning ordinance - Article IV providing new setback requirements. Motion Carried.
