AUGUST 16, 1965
The City Council met in regular semi-monthly meeting with
Mayor Doherty presiding. Aldermen present: Bolger, Conway, Etten,
Huck, Jackson, Pitzen, Smith, Wegener. Absent: None.
Motion by Huck, seconded by Conway, to approve the minutes
of regular meeting held August 2nd. Motion carried.
Motion by Smith, seconded by Jackson, to approve the final
plat of Boone Valley Plat• No. 1, subject to approval of the City
Attorney as to form. Motion carried.
Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Conway, to accept the resignation
of Larry Lund as a member of the McHenry Plan Commission, with instructions
to the City Clerk to write a letter of appreciation for services rendered.
Motion carried.
Motion by Jackson, seconded by Pitzen, to pass and approve ordinance
annexing Hanley's Third Addition to the City of McHenry. Motion carried.
Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Bolger, to grant the request of
McHenry Chapter American Red Cross to sponsor a Tag Day in McHenry on Sept.
18, 1965. Motion carried.
Motion by Smith, seconded by Wegener, to approve the application
of the Kiwanis Club of McHenry to sponsor Kids' Day on Friday, Sept. 24, 1965.
Motion carried.
Motion by Huck, seconded by Jackson, to grant the request of the
Illinois Missionary Children's Home to hold a Tag Day in McHenry on Saturday,
August 28th, 1965. Motion carried.
Motion by Etten, seconded by Wegener, to pay salaries due the
McHenry band in the amount of $1,351.00 and $15.30 due Gordon Fossum for
tuning piano. Motion carried.
Motion by Conway, seconded by Etten, to pay Bob's Body and Fender
Shop bills in the amount of $206.88. Motion carried.
Motion by Hock, seconded by Conway, to pay necessary expenses of
City Officials attending the Illinois Municipal League convention in Peoria
in October, 1965. Motion carried.
Motion by Huck, seconded by Etten, to advertise for bids on new
truck, bids to be received up to 8 P.M., Tuesday, Septette er 7th, 1965.
Motion c arried.
Motion by Conway, seconded by Bolger, to pass An Amendment to the
Zoning Ordinance of the City of McHenry as per recommendation of the Zoning
Board of Appeals following hearing of August 6, 1965 pertaining McHenry Oil
Company. Motion carried.
Motion by Huck, seconded by Smith, to adjourn. Motion carried.
