APRIL 15, 1963
The City Council met in regular semi—monthly meeting
with Mayor Doherty presiding. Aldermen present: Bolger, Conway,
Etten, Huck, Pitzen, Smith. Absent: None.
Motion by Etten, seconded by Huck, to approve the minutes
of April 1st regular meeting as read. motion carried.
Motion by Conway, seconded by Pitzen, to adopt resolution
authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to execute agreement with the
C. & N.W. Railway Company to construct, maintain and use a sanitary
sewer upon the property and under track of the Railway Company and
to pay $25.00 license fee. Motion carried.
Motion by Huck, seconded by Etten, to pay Baxter and
Woodman, Civil and Sanitary Engineers $1,487.96 for services in Ck. #2942
preparation of preliminary report on the City' s Sewage Treatment
Plant. Motion carried.
Motion by Conway, seconded by Pitzen, to pay Clark Oil
Company g153.87 balance due of February account. Motion carried. Ck. #183L
Motion by Huck, seconded by Bolger, to approve Supplement
to Rate Contract with Public Service Company, providing for installation
of street lights on Maple Avenue west of Freund Avenue. Motion carried.
Motion by Bolger, seconded by Smith, to instruct W. A. Rakow
and Associates (Engineers) to proceed with necessary steps for blacktop
completion of Third Street, between Waukegan Road and Elm Street. Motion
carried.
Motion by Etten, seconded by Huck, to convene for the Annual
Meeting of the City Council, Thursday, April 25, 1963 at 8 P.M. in the
City Hall. Motion carried.
Motion by Huck, seconded by Conway, to meet Wednesday, April
17th at 8 P.M. to canvass ballots of City Election of April 16, 1963.
Motion carried.
Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Smith, to adopt resolution
designating salaries of aldermen. Motion carried.
Motion by Smith, seconded by Bolger, to award contract to
Lakeland Construction Company, Inc. for construction of sanitary sewer
in Cooney Heights and other areas, contract to be in the amount of
$122,155.20 as per bid submitted. Motion carried.
Motion by Huck, seconded by Smith, to adjourn. Motion carried.
