HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 05/20/1963 - City Council REGULAR MEETING MAY 20, 1963 The City Council met in regular semi-monthly meeting with Mayor Doherty presiding. Aldermen present: Bolger,Conway, Huck, Pitzen, Smith. Absent: Etten. Motion by Huck, seconded by Bolger, to approve the minutes of regular meeting held May 6th, 1963. Motion carried. Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Conway, to pay the difference between 10" and 6" water main installation in extension to be made by Lee Cooney on Sioux Lane to Lillian Street and to install cut-off valve, estimated cost of city's portion to he $2117.00. Motion carried. Motion by Smith, seconded by Huck, to pay W. A. Rakow and Associates $5717.59 for engineering services and $409.50 for spreading assessment roll, payments being in connection with Cooney Heights Area Special Assessment Sanitary Sewer Project. Motion carried. Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Conway, to grant request of the McHenry Chamber of Commerce to hold a parade in McHenry on Fiesta Ck. #1951 Day, July 21, 1963 and to pay the sum of $300.00 toward the expense of promoting Fiesta Day. Motion carried. Motion by Bolger, seconded by Conway, to pass and approve Ordinance designating Zoning classifications of property described in Annexation Ordinance following petition of Mid States Development Co., Minnie Krecker, Arthur°. Kiesgen, Lucia Kiesgen, Lee J. Cooney, Mildred Kinsala, Mary C. Heckmann, William G. Cooney and Doris Cooney. Motion carried. Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Smith, to direct the Building Officer to inspect structures at 912 Center Street and report back to the council the condition thereof in accordance with Article 10 - Sub-Sections 37 through 49 thereof. Motion carried. Motion by Bolger, seconded by Huck, to construct two concrete tennis courts in the City Park. Motion carried. Motion by Bolger, seconded by Conway, to hire Kathy Pitzen as Life Guard at the City Beach until approximately June 10th, the duties to be taken over by Nancy Fischer at that, time, salary to he $60 per week.
