HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 09/16/1963 - City Council REGULAR MEETING SEPTTMBFR 16, 1963 The City Council met in. regular semi-monthly meeting with Mayor Doherty presiding. Aldermen present: Bolger, Conway, Etten, Huck, Pitzen, Smith. Absent: None. Motion by Huck, seconded by Bolger, to approve the minutes of the last regular meeting as read. Motion carried. Alderman Pitzen, seconded by Alderman Etten, moved, with unanimous approval, to adopt Resolution pertaining visit of Roy Irwin of Bega, Australia, a copy of Resolution to be sent to the Mayor of that City by John E. Looze, City Attorney. Motion by Conway, seconded by Bolger, to grant special permit to the McHenry Medical Group to use the Odilon Long dwelling on Waukegan Street for office use on a temporary basis for a period of six (6) months during construction of addition to the Medical Group building. :Motion carried. Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Etten, to order transcript of Zoning Hearing on Locker petition. Motion carried. Motion by Bolger, seconded by Huck, to instruct the City Clerk to direct a letter to the Department of Public Works and Buildings, Division of Waterways, regarding application filed by Art and Lee's Tavern and Restaurant to construct three piers, calling attention to proximity of Public Beach and proposed shore line, and requesting that an area representative of the Department meet with City Officials to determine if granting of permit would be detrimental to the people of the City and State of Illinois. Motion carried. Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Smith, to approve the treasurer's report for August. Motion carried. Motion by Conway, seconded by Huck, to grant request of the Illinois Missionary Home for Children to hold a Tag Day in McHenry on either September 21st or September 28th, 1963. Motion carried. Motion by Bolger, seconded by Etten, to pay Lakeland Construction Co., Inc. $2,032.32, final payment due on M.F.T. project Sec. 12-CS (John #55 Street and Third Street base) as per Engineer's certificate, and to pay W. A. Rakow and Associates $203.26, f nal amount due for engineering on #56 the project. Motion carried. Motion by Huck, seconded br Smith, to adjourn.
