REGULAR MEETING
AUGUST 4, 1969
(Meeting Place: McHenry Township Fire Protection
District Building at 3610 W. Elm St. as per notice. )
The City Council met in regular semi-monthly
meeting with Mayor Doherty presiding. Aldermen present :
Bolger, Hromec, Huck, Jackson, Rogers, Smith, Stanek.
Absent: Pitzen.
Motion by Smith, seconded by Huck, to approve
minutes as read of regular meeting held July 21, 1969 .

Absent: Pitzen.
Motion carried.
Motion by Smith, seconded by Rogers, to approve
treasurer' s report as read.

Motion by Jackson, seconded by Rogers, to accept
the recommendation of the Zoning Board of Appeals and to
pass and approve ordinance "In The Matter Of The Applica-
tion of Springtrol, Inc . And James D. Shelton For Reclassi-
fication And Amendment Of The Zoning Ordinance Of McHenry,
Illinois ."

Rogers, Smith, Stanek.
Voting "Nay": None.

Motion carried.
Motion by Smith, seconded by Rogers, to pass an
ordinance, as read, repealing Service Occupation Tax Ordi-
nance passed on the20th day of May, 1968 and adopting new
ordinance, effective date to be October 1, 1969 .
Voting "Aye": Bolger, Hromec, Huck, Jackson,
Rogers, Smith, Stanek.
Voting "Nay": None.
Absent: Pitzen.
Motion carried.
Motion by Stanek, seconded by Bolger, to pass an
ordinance, as read, repealing Municipal Retailers ' Occupation
Tax ordinance passed August 1, 1967 and adopting new ordinance,
effective date to be October 1, 1969 .

Motion by Smith, seconded by Hramec, to pay $125 .00
toward installation of an air conditioner at the present
meeting place in cooperation with the McHenry Township Fire
Protection District.
Voting "Aye": Bolger, Hromec, Huck, Jackson,
Rogers , Smith, Stanek.
Voting "Nay": None.
Absent: Pitzen.
Motion carried.
Motion by Stanek, seconded by Bolger, to seal and
resurface the skating pond at the A.P. Freund Athletic Field
at a cost of $3,500.00.
Voting "Aye": Bolger, Hramec, Huck, Jackson,
Rogers , Smith, Stanek.
Voting "Nay": None.
Absent: Pitzen.
Motion carried.
Mayor Doherty appointed a committee, consisting
of Aldermen Smith, Stanek, and Rogers , to investigate
advisability of CATV installation in the City.
Motion by Stanek, seconded by Smith, to grant the
request of Mrs . L.C. Fuhrer, County Chairman of The Chicago
Chapter, National Cystic Fibrosis Research Foundation to
conduct a fund drive in the residential area August 24
through September 2, 1969 .

the request of A.L.S .A. C. (Aiding Lukemia Stricken Children)
to conduct "Teenage March" for funds in the residential area
September 14 through September 21, 1969 .
