FEBRUARY 3, 1969
The City Council met in regular semi-monthly meeting
with Mayor Doherty presiding. Aldermen present: Bolger, Etten,
Hromec, Huck, Jackson, Pitzen, Rogers, Smith, Wegener. Absent: None.
Motion by Wegener, seconded by Rogers, to approve minutes
of regular meeting held January 20th as read.
Voting "Aye": Bolger, Etten, Hromec, Huck, Jackson,
Pitzen, Rogers, Smith, Wegener.
Voting "Nay": None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Motion by Smith, seconded by Jackson, to approve the treasurer 's
report as read.

Motion carried.
Motion by Etten, seconded by Hromec, to approve the clerk 's report
as read.

Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Bolger, to submit plans of
existing water system in Country Club Estates to Baxter and Woodman,
Engineers, for preliminary study previous to consideration of proposed
annexation to the City of McHenry.

Pitzen, Rogers, Smith, Wegener.

Motion by Bolger, seconded by Huck, to adopt Resolution to
• Hon.
the Henerary Thomas J. Hanahan (Copy attached to these minutes)
pertaining to the drainage ditch in the Lakeland Park area.
Voting "Aye": Bolger, Etten, Hromec, Huck, Jackson,
Pitzen, Rogers, Smith, Wegener.
Voting "Nay": None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Motion by Rogers, seocnded by Wegener, to purchase generator
mounted on truck for emergency use at the sewage treatment plant and at
the sanitary sewer lifts, cost of equipment $2900. 00 and estimated cost
of installation of $1700. 00. (Check #456)

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the City of McHenry, Illinois, has been
made aware of an unfavorable condition existing in the
drainage ditch which runs through the Lakeland Park area
in the City, and
WHEREAS, investigation shows the condition of
the drainage ditch is a menace to the public health and
welfare in the community, and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council of McHenry
deem it necessary to correct the situation immediately,
and
WHEREAS, the estimate of cost to correct the
situation would place too great a financial burden on
the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City of
McHenry request the Hon. Thomas J. Hanahan of the
Thirty Third Representative District to present
this urgent problem to the General Assembly of
the State of Illinois for consideration in
�., appropriating funds to correct the problem
stated.
FURTHER, that the City of McHenry engage the
services of W. A. Rakow and Associates, Civil
and Sanitary Engineers, to prepare preliminary
engineering plans on the proposed project.

duly qualified and acting City Clerk of the City of McHenry,
Illinois, and that the City Council of the City of McHenry,
Illinois, has duly passed the above and foregoing Resolution
at a regular meeting of the said City Council held on the
3 rd. day of February, A.D. 1969, at which meeting the
Mayor and a quorum of the Aldermen of the City of McHenry
were present and voting.

Clerk to write to the Chicago and Northwestern Railway Company
requesting installation of flasher lights at the Main Street crossing.
