JANUARY 29, 1968
At the call of the Mayor, a Special Meeting of the City Council
was held in the Council Room January 29, 1968 at 8 P.M.
Mayor Doherty presided and the following Aldermen were present:
Bolger, Etten, Hromec, Huck, Jackson, Pitzen, Rogers, Smith, Wegener.
Absent: None.
The purpose of the meeting was to review proposals for expansion
of the Sanitary Sewer Plant and extensions, a general amendment to the Zoning
Ordinance of The City of McHenry, and other business that might rightfully come
before the council at a special meeting.
Plans and procedures for expansion of the Sanitary Sewer system were
presented by H. S. Sundin of the Baxter and Woodman engineering firm.
The council instructed the City Attorney to prepare petition for
general amendments to the Zoning Ordinance.
Motion by Smith, seconded by Jackson, to pay H. F. Harrison $500.00
appraisal of The McHenry Boat Company property ajacent to the sewage treatment (ck.. .#73)
plant.
Voting 'Aye": Bolger, Etten, Hromec, Huck, Jackson, Pitzen,
Rogers, Smith, Wegener.
Voting "Nay": None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Upon motion by Bolger, seconded by Etten, with unanimous approval of
the council, the Mayor named the following Board of Police Commissioners to
act for the City in that capacity and to have all authority given them under
the statutes of the State of Illinois, reserving, however, the power of
appointment of the Chief of Police to the Mayor and Council.

John Oakford (To end of current fiscal year) .
It was moved by Smith, seconded by Huck, to approve the Mayor's
appointment of Ronald J. Vacula (1 year term), Arnold J. Rauen (2 year term)
and the Police Department election of Kenneth P. Espey and Robert H. Kranz
to act as a Board of Trustees of the Police Pension Fund (Terms begin the
2nd Tuesday in May, 1968) .
Voting "Aye": Bolger, Etten, Hromec, Huck, Jackson, Pitzen,
Rogers, Smith, Wegener.
Voting "Nay": None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Motion by Huck, seconded by Smith, to adjourn.

Absent: None.
