HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 03/18/1968 - City Council REGULAR MEETING MARCH 18, 1968 The City Council met in regular semi-monthly meeting with Mayor Doherty presiding. Aldermen present: Etten, Hromec, Huck, Rogers, Smith, Wegener. Absent: Bolger, Jackson, Pitzen. Motion by Huck, seconded by Rogers, to approve the minutes of regular meeting held March 4th as read. Voting "Aye": Etten, Hromec, Huck, Rogers, Smith, Wegener. Voting "Nay": None. Absent: Bolger, Jackson, Pitzen. Motion carried. Motion by Smith, seconded by Etten, that contract, being in proper form, covering purchase of Charles E. Coles property, be approved and the City Clerk authorized to effect payment as per terms. Voting "Aye": Etten, Hromec, Huck, Rogers, Smith, Wegener. Voting "Nay": None. Absent: Bolger, Jackson, Pitzen. Motion carried. Motion by Etten, seconded by Hromec, to adopt Resolution for the execution of a proposed contract for planning grant for urban planning assistance, payment of $2,902. 00 to be made at this time. (Ck. #137) Voting "Aye": Etten, Hromec, Huck, Rogers, Smith, Wegener. Voting "Nay": None. Absent: Bolger, Jackson, Pitzen. Motion carried. Motion by Huck, seconded by Wegener, to approve payment of $15,072.96 to Lakeland Construction Co., Inc. for replacement of sewer (Ck. #132) main in Riverside Drive. Voting "Aye": Etten, Hromec, Huck, Rogers, Smith, Wegener. Voting "Nay": None. Absent: Bolger, Jackson, Pitzen. Motion carried. Motion by Smith, seconded by Rogers, to approve applications for the following: Veterans ' Poppy Sale - May 25, 1968 Deaf Children of Lake and McHenry Counties Association of Parents and Friends - Candy Sale - April 20, 1968 Tag Day - Women's Auxiliary of the Mental Health Center for McHenry County - Date to be determined Voting "Aye": Etten, Hromec, Huck, Rogers, Smith, Wegener. Voting "Nay": None. Absent: Bolger, Jackson, Pitzen. Motion carried. Motion by Smith, seconded by Wegener, to enter into agreement with the McHenry County Department of Health for inspection of business places serving and dispensing food and drinks. Voting "Aye": Etten, Hromec, Huck, Rogers, Smith, Wegener. Voting "Nay": None. Absent: Bolger, Jackson, Pitzen. Motion carried. Regular Meeting - March Z8, Z968 #2 Motion by Huck, seconded by Rogers, to pay Don Hoenes $35.00, pertaining sewer construction - Riverside Drive. (Ck.#136) Voting "Aye": Etten; Hromec, Huck, Rogers, Smith, Wegener. Voting "Nay": None. `— Absent: Bolger, Jackson, Pitzen. Motion carried. Motion by Huck, seconded by Hromec, to grant Permit for Carnival, May 29 through June 2, Z968, closing time of carnival operations each night to be 10:00 P.M., to the McHenry Market Place Business Men Association, establishment of distance of rides from right of way and other requirements to be determined by the license committee.
