OCTOBER 21, 1968
The City Council met in regular semi-monthly meeting with
Mayor Doherty presiding. Aldermen present: Bolger, Etten, Hromec,
Huck, Jackson, Pitzen, Smith, Wegener. Absent: Rogers. *
Motion by Huck, seconded by Jackson, to approve the minutes
of regular meeting held October 7th. as read.
Voting "Aye": Bolger, Etten, Hromec, Huck, Jackson, Pitzen,
Smith, Wegener.
Voting "Nay": None.
Absent: Rogers.
Motion carried.
Motion by Smith, seconded by Pitzen, to instruct the City Attorney
to direct a letter to the Board of Education District #15 advising that the
City of McHenry plans a Sewer Improvement Referendum on December 10, 1968.
Voting "Aye": Bolger, Etten, Hromec, Huck, Jackson, Pitzen,
Smith, Wegener.
Voting "Nay": None.
Absent: Rogers.
Motion carried.
Alderman Rogers was present at this point in the meeting.
Motion by Smith, seconded by Bolger, to approve Mayor Doherty 's
appointment of Martha Diane Valentine as a Meter Maid at a salary of $2. 50
per hour.
Voting "Aye": Bolger, Etten, Hromec, Huck, Jackson, Pitzen, Rogers,
Smith, Wegener.
Voting "Nay": None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.

Motion by Rogers, seconded by Huck, to approve enrolling Lt.
Kenneth Espey in a Narcotics Training Course at the University of Illinois
December 16 - 20, 1968 and pay the enrollment fee of $100.00. (Ck. #613)
Voting "Aye": Bolger, Etten, Hromec, Huck, Jackson, Pitzen,
Rogers, Smith, Wegener.
Voting 'Nay None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Motion by Smith, seconded by Rogers, to refer road construction
requirements in Fairway Green Subdivision to Baxter and Woodman, Engineers,
for recommendations and to accept their recommendations.

Rogers, Smith, Wegener.
Voting "Nay": None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Bolger, to open bids submitted on
police car.

Rogers, Smith, Wegener.

The following police car bids were received:

1969 Dodge Polara $1,278. 70
1969 Dodge Coronet $1,075.39
Buss Ford Sales:
1969 Ford $890. 00
All bids based on trade-in of 1968 Dodge as per specifications.

Motion by Etten, seconded by Rogers, to purchase 1969 Ford
Police Car from Buss Ford Sales-as per bid of $890.00.

Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Jackson, to pay Lakeland Construction
Co., Inc. $52,500. 00 on Crystal Lake Road Project - MFT 18 CS- as per Engineer's
Estimate No. 1, payments to be made as follows:
General Fund $15,831. 76 (Ck. #606)
Storm Sewer (Bond Issue Acct.)----$5,560. 54 (Ck.#341)
MFT Account 31,107. 70 (Ck. #74)
$52,500. 00

C. Fry for six month extension on final plat of the First Addition to Boat
and Saddle Subdivision.
